As a science professional specialized in developing antibody therapeutics, Geert’s main drive is to impact patient’s lives. With his 20+ years of experience in R&D, focusing on therapeutic intervention of several diseases, he has ample experience in the field of antibody development, immunotherapeutics, autoimmune disease and oncology.
Geert has held a number of academic positions in expert centers across Europe. In his commercial life he worked in globally operating small- to medium-sized biotech and large pharmaceutical companies in senior roles. Geert has (co-)founded several companies in the field of antibody therapeutics.
As a consultant he utilizes his vast antibody knowledge and expertise to aid biotech start-ups and small- to medium sized companies in various fields; from oncology, autoimmune-, to metabolic- or neurological disease.

- Trained in Biomedical Sciences with a Master Genomics & Bioinformatics from the University of Utrecht
- PhD in Molecular Oncology at University Medical Center Utrecht investigating molecular intervention strategies to control Notch signaling in the development of cancer
- Scientist Immunotherapy at University Medical Center Utrecht conducting pioneering research on the therapeutic potential of IgA antibodies
- Postdoc in Cancer Epigenetics, Barcelona, Spain. Studying the epigenetic regulation of a tumor-suppressor gene involved in leukemia
- Co-promotor of PhD graduates in Cancer Immunotherapy employing blocking antibodies against Myeloid Immune Checkpoints

- Analytical Scientist at Merck/MSD working on blockbuster therapeutic antibody pembrolizumab (Keytruda)
- Scientific Lead at Merck/MSD guiding research team on analytical assay development to control for pembrolizumab production processes
